How do office workers take precaution against Cervical Spondylosis?

May.24, 2021

Be it for a white-collar worker, planner, copywriter, author, and for many types of long-term desk job workers, there are two items to invest in.
The first item is keyboard, which is your productivity tool. It is the thing you touch the most every day. You can use it for typing a document or just place your hands on it and daydream. Therefore, people who work at the desk for a long time should try to buy a good keyboard instead of making do with a lousy keyboard.
The other item is the chair, which ensures good sitting posture and protect your body. This is especially so for people who need to be at the desk for more than 8 hours every day, 365 days a year. If you sit on an inferior chair, you might be susceptible to lower back strain and cervical spondylosis at an early age.
In fact, our bodies are not designed for sitting over long periods of time. It may be less than a hundred years before humans need to work for long periods while sitting down. Our bodies are designed for exercising and working out. A human body has more than 360 joints and about 700 skeletal muscles. This is the evidence that you can find from our body structure.
But now we must sit in the office, otherwise we will lose our jobs. What should we do?
Firstly, it is important to practice a good sitting posture, and better to get up and move after sitting down for a while.
Although this is effective in preventing muscle strains or lower back problems, in fact, few people can do it. It is not that people do not want to do it, but one might be so busy working, especially when you have a morning meeting and organizing the work to be done. In the afternoon, you still must come up with a plan for the customer, you will often fall into a frantic mood. At this point of time, your mind is thinking about the customer and to make use of your time and finish off the massive workload. We often do not have time for meals, so can you consciously think of the sitting posture and practice regular movements? We need to get rid of the urgent matters at hand! Of course, this is the cause for a lot of lower backaches among office workers.
This is the reason why I am emphasizing about the need for a better chair. If you make sure that you can keep a good sitting posture and get up to move around after sitting for a while, you do not need to use a good chair. It is acceptable if you have a normal chair which cost less than 100 dollars. But if you cannot, I really recommend you use an ergonomic chair!
